PROJET D'ÉDITION
The recipe to prepare during the summer internship was the book Art, Love, Food: The Celebration of Rebrith.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The recipe to prepare during the summer internship was the book Art, Love, Food: The Celebration of Rebrith. The recipe book is a project for cancer patients, survivors and health enthusiasts in general, with plans to publish in English and French, it is combined collection of healthy recipes, artwork from the author and the stories behind the Foundation’s art therapy practice for over a decade.
My role in the project was to create new iterations for the book layout, to integrate the final content, create a promotional video for the book and a guide to InDesign and After Effects for the art director and the project manager to make changes to the files in the future. I worked directly with Janet and Robert in the development and the approval of the book layout and video iterations, the illustrations, the final layout and video. I also worked closely with Celia in the integration of the content to the layout, the brainstorming of the concept for the promotional video and the edition of the final version of the book. I also had to contact different printers to know the different printing option.
THE MATERIALIZATION OF THE IDEA
The challenging with the realization of the project was to translate the experiences from the author and the stories behind the recipes into the layout of the book. The content of the book was created at the same time than the layout. It was really important to work closely with the editor, the author and art director to understand the essence of the book’s message and have sections that were harmonic and cohesive.
